Barcelona

Barcelona, the cosmopolitan capital of Spain’s Catalonia region, is known for its art and architecture. The fantastical Sagrada Família church and other modernist landmarks designed by Antoni Gaudí dot the city. Museu Picasso and Fundació Joan Miró feature modern art by their namesakes. City history museum MUHBA includes several Roman archaeological sites.

Girona

Girona is a city in Spain’s northeastern Catalonia region, beside the River Onyar. It’s known for its medieval architecture, walled Old Quarter (Barri Vell) and the Roman remains of the Força Vella fortress. Landscaped gardens line the Passeig Arqueològic, a walkway following the Old Quarter’s medieval walls, which include watchtowers with sweeping views.

ITINERARY

Day 1

Barcelona (arrival)


Arrival at airport in mid or late morning flight and meeting with English speaking assistant.

Transfer to restaurant in Barcelona by coach with English speaking assistant.

Lunch at local restaurant.

In the afternoon, delve into the city with your Local English Guide, including entrance to the Sagrada Familia Church.

Considered Gaudi’s masterpiece and the symbol of Barcelona. Admire the architect’s mastery and enjoy the abundant symbolism of his work. Discover how nature influenced and inspired Gaudi's wonderful work and finally learn about the history and importance of his fascinating cathedral.

Dinner by pax own arrangement.

Day 2 

Barcelona, Montserrat, Barcelona


Breakfast at hotel.

Leave the sea behind and head into the mountains for a visit to Montserrat. On the panorama of rocky pillars and by the hand of your Local English Guide you will find Catalonia's most renowned Benedictine Monastery, Santa Maria de Montserrat, founded in the 11th century and considered of the finest examples of Romanesque architecture in the country.

Upon return to Barcelona free time for lunch arranged by pax on their own.

In the afternoon enjoy a walk in the Gothic Quarter that stretches from Las Ramblas to Vía Laietana and from Passeig de Colom to the Plaça de Catalunya. It’s narrow and twisting medieval streets are the perfect way to explore the city center and visit Barcelona Cathedral a famous example of the Catalan Gothic architecture.

In the evening, discover the best flamenco show in town while enjoying dinner.

Day 3 

Barcelona, Figueres, Girona, Barcelona


Breakfast at hotel

Depart from Barcelona for a full day excursion to Figueres and Girona. Discover the Dalí Theater-Museum in Figueres and marvel at the largest collection of Salvador Dalí's art.

Enjoy lunch in one of the local restaurants in Figueres.

Afterwards visit the wonderful city of Girona walking around the old town, where you will see the cathedral and the old city wall.

Dinner by pax own arrangement after arrival at Barcelona.

Day 4

Barcelona Free day


Breakfast at hotel

Enjoy your last day in Barcelona walking around the city at your own leisure.
