Würzburg

Würzburg is the starting city for a tour of the Romantic Road route through southern Germany.
The city itself is set in a beautiful hilly location on a river and possesses a wealth of history, as well
playing host to a UNESCO World Heritage site in the Residence palace. It is also smack in the middle
of one of Germany's biggest wine-producing areas and has superb connections to other parts of the
country.

Nürnberg

Known for its toys and Dürer towns, Nürnberg is a city in Bavaria, Germany. It is the administrative
region of the central Franconia region and is the second largest city in Bavarian after Munich. It is
also famous for Christmas markets during Christmas time.

ITINERARY

Day 1

Frankfurt/Würzburg


Arrival at the Frankfurt airport and transfer to Würzburg by Train(ICE / 2nd class)

After check-in at the hotel, Sightseeing in Würzburg on foot.

Residenz / Dom / Festung Marienberg / Alte MainBrücke / Marienkapelle etc.

  • Würzburg’s Residenz

Würzburg’s Residenz is generally considered the purest and most remarkable of all baroque palaces

in Germany. Built between 1720 and 1744 and enhanced by the magnificent gardens between 1765

and 1780, it exemplifies the glittering era and is one of the most spectacular royal palaces in Europe.

Würzburg/Bamberg

Transfer to Bamberg with train (direct train from Würzburg)

  • Bamberg’s Dom

After the first two cathedrals burned down in the 11 th and 12 th centuries, the current structure, a

late Romanesque building with for large towers, was built in the 13 th century. The cathedral is under the administration of Roman Catholic Church and the seat of the Archbishop of Bamberg. Since 1993, the cathedral has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site ‘Town of Bamberg’.

Day 3

Würzburg/Nürnberg

Transfer from hotel to station in Würzburg on foot.

Kaiserburg is the symbol of Nuremberg. Since the Middle Ages its silhouette has represented the

power and importance of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation and the outstanding role of

the imperial city of Nuremberg.

Nürnberg/Bayreuth

The Markgräfliches Opernhaus, a world heritage site since 2012, was reopened after extensive

restauration in 2018 and is one of the most beautiful baroque theaters of the world.


Suggestion 2 : Visit to Regensburg

Transfer to Regensburg with train (direct train from Nürnberg)

Sightseeing place : Dom / Reichstagsmuseum / Schloss Thurn und Taxis (Schloss St.Emmeram) etc.

  • Regensburg’s Dom

Regensburger Dom also known as St. Peter's Cathedral is an example of important Gothic

architecture within the German state of Bavaria. It is a landmark for the city of Regensburg and the

seat of the Catholic Diocese of Regensburg.


Transfer to Nürnberg

Stay at a 4 star hotel in Nürnberg city centre.



Day 5

Nürnberg/Frankfurt
